CenterPoint-TDU Files Amounts To Be Refunded To Customers Via Retail Electric Providers

CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric has filed a proposed tariff for new Rider RRC, Rate Reduction Credit, for a customer refund to be provided through retail electric providers, showing the amount to be refunded to each customer per kWh or per kVA, as applicable

As previously reported, a settlement in a recent CEHE rate proceeding calls for a $5.2 million refund

Rider RRC is to be in place for a two-month period beginning August 1, 2025. On October 1, 2025, the Rate Reduction Credit shall terminate

Rider RRC is to provide the following credits:

Rider RRC 
Residential           ($0.000215) per kWh
Secondary <= 10 kVA   ($0.000334) per kWh
Secondary > 10 kVA    ($0.062308) per kVA*
Primary               ($0.036335) per kVA*
Transmission          ($0.018329) per kVA**
Lighting              ($0.004550) per kWh

* Per Billing kVA
** Per 4CP kVA

Under the settlement, the refunds are to be provided to REPs using an existing SAC04 code
