DRW To Acquire 50% Of Parent Of Several Retail Suppliers

LLC has entered into a transaction under which DRW Holdings
LLC would ultimately acquire 50% of the Class A units outstanding in Catalyst Power Parent LLC, which ultimately owns several retail energy suppliers and a broker
Catalyst Power Parent LLC is currently owned by BP-Catalyst Power Holdings LLC (part of BP Energy Partners), which is the majority and controlling owner, and GP Energy Ventures LLC. GP Energy Ventures currently owns less than a 10% interest in Catalyst Power Holdings LLC
BP-Catalyst Power Holdings LLC and GP Energy Ventures LLC would collectively own 50% of Catalyst Power Parent LLC after the transaction
100% of the voting equity of DRW Holdings, LLC is owned by Donald R.
Wilson, Jr., through a trust. Wilson is also the sole Manager of DRW Holdings, LLC.
Catalyst Power Parent LLC owns retail suppliers Catalyst Power & Gas
LLC, AP Gas & Electric (NY), LLC, and Robison Energy, LLC, as well as broker U.S. Energy Partners
The Texas PUC previously conditionally granted an Option 2 retail electric provider certificate to another DRW entity, DRW Energy Trading LLC, though, under the customary process, DRW must still provide a customer affidavit agreeing to REP service for such certificate to be final
DRW has also received an Ohio electric supplier license (story here)
As previously reported, DRW's founder and controlling shareholder, Don Wilson, was recently the subject of a profile in the London Financial Times which asked: "Is Chicago’s Don Wilson the smartest man in trading?" (Nov. 11, 2024).
