National Grid Files Decrease To Residential Purchase Of Receivables Discount Rate, Industrial Discount Spikes To 1%

National Grid has filed with the Massachusetts DPU proposed new standard complete billing percentages (SCBPs), or purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates, proposed to be effective May 1, 2025
As filed in an explanatory letter, National Grid's proposed SCBPs for effect May 1, 2025 are as follows (current rates provided for comparison):
For the industrial customer class, the increase is driven by increases in both the reconciliation factor and the uncollectibles component
For the proposed industrial POR discount of 1.02%, the reconciliation component is 0.37% (vs. 0.08% currently), and the uncollectibles component is 0.65% (vs. 0.27% currently)
