Heritage Power, LLC (HP), a Texas retail electric provider, announced the deployment of a virtual power plant (VPP) through its customer base.

The installation of the first 7.5 MW of battery storage will be completed by the end of Q1 2025, with a total of 60 MW of aggregated storage targeted by Q1 2026.

"An undisclosed publicly traded private equity group will serve as the system owner, and the virtual power plant will be jointly developed and operated using Heritage Power’s customer base and operations expertise," Heritage Power said

"This program creates value by deploying battery storage systems that offer the dual functionality of providing back-up power to property owners and enabling the realization of price arbitrage within ERCOT's market," Heritage Power said

"HP is proud to offer a battery backup system that reduces monthly bills and provides power in the event of outages," Heritage Power said

"Delivering backup power solutions to our valued customers demonstrates HP’s commitment to our customer's needs. We are excited to launch this new program, alongside other initiatives currently in development," said Tim Sanchez, CEO of Heritage Power.

"Our team solved numerous developmental problems and built something truly unique. I expect this project to be a game-changer for our Retail Electric business and a true asset for the ERCOT grid," said Michael Tackett, President of Heritage Power.
