The Michigan PSC released its calendar year 2024 report on retail electric choice
The report includes, by service area, the MW served and customer count of each retail supplier
Such data starts on page 23 of the report, available here
The report notes that the electric choice programs for DTE Electric, Consumers Energy, Upper Michigan Energy Resource Corporation, Upper Peninsula Power Company, and Indiana Michigan Power were fully subscribed at the 10 percent cap
throughout the year. Cloverland Electric Cooperative's choice participation stood at 9%.
The PSC reports that there are about 5,899 customers in the choice queue (versus 5,981 as of 2023)
As of December 2024, there were approximately 5,514 customers served under competitive retail supply (compared to 5,539 in 2023), representing about
2,187 MW (versus 2,798 MW in 2023).
Seven competitive retail suppliers were actively serving customers in Michigan as of December 2024, which is the same number of active suppliers as of December 2023
While there was no change in the number of active suppliers statewide, CMS ERM MI during 2024 newly served customers at Consumers Energy (29 customers with 58 MW served). Based on a review of prior reports, it appears CMS ERM MI last served retail choice customers at Consumers Energy in 2006
