Several Utilities Oppose Daily Updates To 'Do Not Switch' List
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Several Maryland utilities have recommended that the Maryland PSC require only weekly, not daily, updates to the list of customers who do not wish to be contacted by, or switched to, a retail energy supplier
PSC Staff have proposed requiring daily updates to the Do Not Transfer list
Potomac Edison said that it does not believe that daily updates to the Do Not Transfer list would provide sufficient customer benefit, compared to weekly updates, in light of the costs to implement daily update functionality
In separate comments, WGL also said that weekly updates are sufficient and that daily updates are too frequent
In separate comments, BGE said that weekly updates are "adequate," but noted that BGE will be capable of daily updates under its automation process currently being implemented
Pepco and Delmarva supported PSC Staff's recommendation for daily updates to the Do Not Switch list. The Office of People's Counsel supports daily updates as well
