BP Energy Retail Company Applies For Pennsylvania Retail Gas Supplier License
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
BP Energy Retail Company LLC applied for a Pennsylvania retail natural gas supplier license to serve large commercial (6,000 Mcf or more annually), industrial, and governmental customers in all service areas
In its application, BP Energy Retail Company stated that BPERC serves approximately 500 retail gas customers
EDF Energy Services LLC, a predecessor to BP Energy Retail Company LLC (and which was owned by BP at the relevant time) previously held a retail natural gas supplier license in Pennsylvania, but the PUC previously cancelled the license for, as stated in a PUC order, failure to provide an annual revenue report or failure to pay past due assessment and fee balances. A tentative PUC order had stated that EDF Energy Services LLC had not paid an annual fee for 2023, but the PUC's final order on cancellation was not specific as to whether the outstanding issue was either failure to file an annual report or failure to pay the annual fee
Affiliate BP Energy Company is currently licensed as a retail natural gas supplier in Pennsylvania, authorized to serve large commercial (6,000 Mcf or more annually), industrial, and governmental customers at Columbia Gas, UGI Utilities, Inc., Peoples Natural Gas Company LLC, and Peoples Gas Company, LLC
