New Default Service Rates Set For Central Maine Power & Both Versant Rate Districts

The Maine PUC has approved new electricity default service rates at the state's three investor-owned electric utilities

At Central Maine Power, the residential and small C&I Standard Offer (SO) rate will be $0.106128 per kWh for the period 1/1/2025 to 12/31/2025, marginally lower than the current rate of $0.106363 per kWh

CMP medium C&I SO rates for 2025 will be as follows

The PUC said that the CMP medium C&I weighted average SO rate for 2025 is 10.47 cents per kWh, versus 9.86 cents per kWh for 2024

Large C&I CMP rates will continue to be set monthly based on market prices using an index

For Versant Power's Bangor Hydro District (formerly Bangor Hydro-Electric), the PUC has announced the new SO rates, but full details about the rates (decimal values beyond two decimals) were not yet posted

For Versant BHD residential and small C&I customers, the SO rate for 2025 is about 10.56 cents per kWh, marginally up from the current rate of 10.26 cents per kWh

Monthly Versant BHD medium C&I SO prices established by a procurement approved by the PUC were not yet posted. The PUC said that the Versant BHD medium C&I weighted average SO rate for 2025 is 10.39 cents per kWh, up from the 2024 weighted average of 9.83 cents per kWh

Large C&I Versant BHD rates will continue to be set monthly based on market prices using an index

For Versant's Maine Public Service District (MPD), the residential and small C&I SO rate will be $0.11653 per kWh for the period 1/1/2025 to 12/31/2025, marginally higher than the current rate of $0.112850 per kWh

For Medium C&Is at Versant's Maine Public Service District (MPD), the monthly SO rates are as follows:
