Update On Recent Customer Book Acquisition By Retail Supplier

Via Renewables, Inc. has filed an 8-K regarding its acquisition of a customer book from Tomorrow Energy Corp., which had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com last week
While the public version of the 8-K does not disclose the purchase price or number of customers included in the transaction, the 8-K does suggest the markets in which the relevant customers are located
Specifically, references in the 8-K to requisite licenses and customer materials suggest that the acquisition by Via Renewables of certain Tomorrow Energy customers includes Tomorrow Energy customers in the following states, by commodity type:
Electricity: • Illinois
• Maryland
• New Jersey
• Ohio
• Pennsylvania
• Texas
Natural Gas • Maryland
• Michigan
• New Jersey
• Ohio
• Pennsylvania
Note that, separate from the 8-K, the inclusion in the transaction of certain Tomorrow Energy customers in Pennsylvania has also been confirmed, with such customers including both electricity and gas. As previously reported last week, the book is also confirmed to include both electricity and natural gas customers in Maryland
In Pennsylvania, regulatory filings suggest that natural gas customers included in the transaction are located within the service areas of Columbia Gas; PECO; Peoples Natural Gas; Philadelphia Gas Works, and UGI. A regulatory filing further suggests that all of these customers are residential
In Pennsylvania, at least, and for natural gas, at least, Tomorrow Energy further confirmed that Tomorrow does not intend to withdraw its natural gas supplier license, as Tomorrow intends to continue acquiring and serving natural gas customers in Pennsylvania.
