Atlantic Energy officially announced its expansion to the Texas market

Atlantic Energy will initially operate two Texas brands: Atlantex and AE Texas.

Atlantex will be focused on, "premier digital shopping platforms," while AE Texas will focus on retail energy paired with smart home products

AE Texas will offer AE Connect, a suite of smart home products and a range of other value-added services.

AE Connect will feature smart products including LED color-changing bulbs, Bluetooth speaker bulbs, security cameras, and smart plugs

Similar to Atlantic Energy's offering in other states, AE Connect customers will receive various smart devices every 3 months during their service

AE Connect offers an app allowing customers to control the devices

Other offers from Atlantic Energy in Texas will include solar buyback options and free energy nights or weekends

In the Oncor service area, AE Texas's plans include a 12-month fixed rate with an average all-in price, at 1,000 kWh, of 14.1 cents per kWh, which reflects an energy charge of $0.0849 per kWh, and TDU charges of $0.051893 per kWh and $4.23 per billing cycle. An early termination fee of $20 per remaining month applies

Atlantic Energy is also launching expanded commercial services in PJM, through a network of brokers and consultants

"We are thrilled to enter the Texas market and offer solutions that not only meet demanding energy needs but also help customers take control of their energy consumption through smart home technology and personalized services," said Rob Cantrell, CEO of Atlantic.

"The recent signing of our long-term Energy Supply Agreement with Mitsui & Co. Energy Marketing and Services (USA), Inc. (MEMS) allows us to enhance our service offerings and provide greater reliability and value to our customers," Cantrell said

Atlantic Energy's Texas market entry had been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com last year
