Texas PUC Approves Designation Of REPs As Non-Volunteer POLRs
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The Texas PUC has designated retail electric providers to serve as non-volunteer POLRs (large service providers or LSPs) for the 2025-26 term
The PUC also accepted TXU Energy's application to serve as a volunteer POLR for certain customer classes and service areas for 2025-2026
TXU was granted volunteer POLR status for residential and small non-residential customers in all applicable service areas (LPL has its own separate POLR process), and for medium non-residential customers in all service areas except AEP Texas North. These are the same service areas for which TXU currently serves as a volunteer POLR
For the designation of REPs as non-volunteer POLRs, the PUC accepted without modification the final LSP list developed by PUC Staff which was filed by Staff in Project 56035
The final LSP list can be accessed here
