Retail Choice Opponent Named Executive Director Of NARUC
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners has selected Tony Clark as the group’s incoming executive director.
Clark served as a FERC commissioner from 2012-2016, and is a former commissioner and chair of the North Dakota PSC. Clark served as NARUC president from November 2010 to November 2011.
Clark has been critical of retail energy choice and opposed several measures to expand or introduce retail choice in Virginia and other states
In a February 2020 tweet, Clark had described the "consequences" of retail choice as, "persistently higher than avg electricity rates, more volatile rates, a loss of state jurisdiction over resource planning & a troubling pattern of bad actors in the retail marketing space, which has resulted in numerous multi-million fines."
