Texas PUC Prepares Proceeding To Address Provision Of Certain Customer Information From Retail Providers To TDUs

The Public Utility Commission of Texas has assigned Project No. 56898 for a proceeding captioned as, "Provision of Emergency Contact Information to Transmission and Distribution Utilities by Retail Electric Providers".
As of publication time, nothing substantive has yet been filed in the project
As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, in discussing its Beryl service restoration, noted the challenges the TDU faces in not having contact information for most of the retail electric customers on its system
As noted in our prior story, several PUC Commissioners have highlighted the need to address the issue of the provision of retail customer information, held by REPs, to TDUs
In a remark directed to CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric executives, PUC Commissioner Jimmy Glotfelty specifically said last week, concerning retail electric customers in the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric territory, "they are your customers."
