Texas Retail Provider Re-enters Market After Hiatus

Capital Energy PA, LLC has resumed actively offering retail electric service in Texas, under its new Budget Power brand
As previously reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Capital Energy PA, LLC had sold a book of Texas customers (under its Value Power brand) to NRG Energy in late 2023
Budget Power states in an introduction to customers that, "Unlike most other
companies, we value your loyalty -- which is why existing customers receive our
best rates at renewal."
Budget Power further touts, "Renewal rates that are as good as what new customers pay".
Budget Power also says that it offers, "straightforward plans with competitive
rates with no gimmicks or 'gotchas [sic]."
Budget Power is offering residential customers fixed rates with terms of 12, 24, or 36 months
In the Oncor service area, Budget Power's 12-month fixed rate has an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 15.5¢ per kWh, which reflects a fixed energy charge of 10.481¢ per kWh, and Oncor charges of 4.6384¢ per kWh and $4.23 per month.
A $200 early termination fee applies to the 12-month plan
