Retail Supplier Acquires Customer Book
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Major Energy Services, LLC recently closed an asset purchase agreement with
Inspire Energy Holdings, LLC.
As a result, Inspire will be assigning, "certain of its active and eligible residential
gas customers," to Major Energy.
The effective date of the
transfer will be the customer’s first meter read date on/or after July 1, 2024.
Major Energy affirms that it will comply with all terms and
conditions in effect for the assigned contracts before the assignment occurs.
Major Energy has provided notice of the assignment to Duke Energy Ohio Gas, Dominion East Ohio, and Columbia Gas of Ohio, suggesting that the assignment covers, at a minimum, certain gas customers in those service areas
A customer notice to Ohio customers from Major and Inspire notes that, to the extent the customer is being served by Inspire for electricity, Inspire will continue to serve as the customer's retail electric supplier
Via Renewables, Inc., the ultimate parent of Major, had earlier this month announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire approximately 12,500 RCEs in its existing markets, though it could not be immediately confirmed that the Inspire transaction is the same agreement to which Via was referring
Inspire Energy Holdings is ultimately owned by Shell
