Washington Gas Light in Maryland has filed proposed updates to its purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates, to be effective with the June 2024 billing cycle

For residential accounts, WGL proposes to set the POR discount at 3.2418%, about 68% higher than the current 1.9297%

The largest driver for the change in the residential discount is an increase in the bad debt factor, which increased to 1.4073% from 0.6844%. The 2024 reconciliation factor is about 0.5% higher as well (1.7171% versus 1.2423% in the current discount)

For non-residential accounts, WGL proposes to set the POR discount to 0.0260%, up from the current 0% discount rate
