Discrete Proceeding On PPL Customer Shopping Communications Held In Abeyance
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
A Pennsylvania PUC ALJ has granted an unopposed request to hold in abeyance a petition (P-2022-3036985) from the Retail Energy Supply Association ("RESA") concerning the propriety of communications from PPL Electric Utilities (PPL or PPL Electric) to PPL customers concerning EGSs, rates, and shopping
See background on the proceeding here
RESA had requested that the proceeding be held in abeyance given that PPL Electric was to soon file a proposed new default service plan, with issues concerning the customer referral program, and PPL communications to customers concerning EGSs and EGS rates, expected to be addressed in such default service plan proceeding
Indeed, PPL has since filed for approval of a new default service plan and, as first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, PPL in such plan seeks from the PUC approval to continue its customer communications concerning EGSs and EGS rates.
PPL has also proposed under its default service plan that participants in the Standard Offer customer referral program (SOP) be moved back to default service at the end of the SOP term, unless the customer makes an affirmative choice to remain with their supplier
See more details on the default service plan proposal here
