TXU Rolls Out New Plan Automatically Giving Customers Most Advantageous Free Energy Period (Days, Nights, Or Weekends) Depending On Actual Customer Use Each Month

TXU Energy announced a new residential electricity plan in Texas, called Live Your Free, which TXU called, "the first and only plan of its kind that automatically adapts each month to give customers free energy when they use it most, whether that's all day, all night, or all weekend."
TXU said that Live Your Free delivers, "100% personalized savings each month," and provides customers either free days, nights, or weekends -- depending on what will save them most."
Customers automatically receive one of the following, whichever is most advantageous to the customer during the applicable billing period:
• Free Days: You can receive a 100% Discount on all Energy Charges per kWh during the daytime hours from 10:00
a.m. through 4:59 p.m. each day.
• Free Nights: You can receive a 100% Discount on all Energy Charges during the nighttime hours from 9:00 p.m.
through 4:59 a.m. each day.
• Free Weekends: You can receive a 100% Discount on all Energy Charges during the weekend hours from 7:00 p.m.
Friday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday every weekend
"This plan is designed to take the guesswork out of saving by providing an automatic discount every month," said Sydney Seiger, chief marketing officer for TXU Energy. "With Live Your Free, there's no need to change your habits. Customers will see 100% personalized savings every month, based on the ways they use energy."
"Each month we'll look at your usage during the day, night, and weekend time periods and you'll receive the one discount that offers you maximum free energy and savings," TXU said of the plan

In the Oncor service area, TXU's Live Your Free 12 plan is a 12-month fixed rate with an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh, of 18.6 cents per kWh. This reflects a base charge of $9.95 per month and energy charge of 20.9000¢ per kWh applicable during the non-free hours, plus a pass-through of TDU charges.
The EFL Average Price per kWh noted above is based on a three-year sample of TXU Energy customers in the applicable TDU service area and
reflects that an average of 39.66% of usage occurred in the Free Energy time periods
A $150 early termination fee applies
