PSC Sets Hearing On Retail Market Reforms
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The Maryland PSC has formally designated consideration of various retail energy market reforms as Public Conference 60 (PC60) and scheduled a legislative-style hearing to consider various proposals, with the hearing scheduled to be held on May 1, 2024
PC60 will house the PSC's consideration of a previously undocketed review of potential broad retail energy market reforms.
The matter originated with a petition from consumer advocates to end POR, with PSC Staff suggesting in comments the end of utility consolidated billing. PSC Staff have also proposed requiring affirmative consent for a fixed rate change, or a switch from a fixed to a variable rate, and also requiring the entire sales interaction at the door or on the phone to be recorded

The PSC also established a round of reply comments to the earlier comments filed in the retail market review, with a deadline of April 8 for replies
