Regulator Further Advances Adoption Of New Security Requirements For Retail Suppliers, Over $2 Million Potentially Required For Large Suppliers The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The Connecticut
Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (Authority or PURA) issued a notice that it has decided to move forward
with new regulations concerning electric supplier licensing.
PURA's decision today indicates that PURA has decided on final language for the proposed rules. While PURA has decided on final language with which to move forward, the rules have not yet been formally adopted. The final version of the proposed new rules now move through the state's administrative process, outside of PURA, for new rules
While PURA re-noticed the proposed rules in early 2024, the final language with which PURA will proceed does not substantively differ from an earlier proposal with respect to those issues ECM previously detailed in a 2023 story
The provisions described in our 2023 story (click here) have not been revised in PURA's latest notice of its intention to adopt the rules
See our prior story here for full details on the new regulations
