New Retail Supplier Seeks Georgia Marketer Certificate

NextEra Energy Services Georgia LLC applied for a Georgia retail natural gas marketer certificate to serve commercial and industrial customers in all pools

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, NextEra Energy Services has entered into a transaction to acquire the customers of Fireside Natural Gas

Once the new NextEra entity is certificated and the transaction closes, the Fireside Natural Gas customers would be assigned to the new NextEra marketer, with the original Fireside certificate withdrawn

NextEra Energy Services Georgia will provide firm natural gas service in Georgia under the name NextEra Energy Services Georgia, but applied to use the trade name FireSide Natural Gas during the transition process until all applicable contracts have been assigned

In its application, the company provided details concerning other NextEra natural gas retail suppliers as follows:

• FPL Energy Services, LLC (Florida): serving 7,000 commercial and industrial customers across 5 local distribution companies.

• Vanguard Energy Services, LLC (Illinois): This recently acquired entity serves 1,200 commercial and industrial customers across 4 local distribution companies.

• Frontier Utilities, LLC (Illinois, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio): serving 7,000 residential customers across 7 local distribution companies.
