Lubbock City Council Gives Final Approval For Retail Choice To Start At Lubbock Power & Light

The City Council of Lubbock, Texas has given final approval for Lubbock Power & Light to transition to retail electric choice, effective March 4, 2024.
As previously reported, choice will begin for customers based on regularly scheduled meter reads, during the period March 4, 2024 through April 2, 2024
The initial customer choice selection period will run January 5, 2024 to February 15, 2024
Customers not making a selection during this period will be assigned to the previously reported default REPs
LP&L's remaining non-ERCOT load was integrated into ERCOT on December 11
LP&L said that it has about 42 REPs set to be active in the market thus far
