The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
ERCOT said in a market notice that, "It is expected that the integration of Lubbock’s [Lubbock Power & Light] remaining Load into the ERCOT System will take place in stages over the period of December 9 - 11, 2023. Lubbock’s remaining Load will be a Non-Opt-In Entity (NOIE) Load and placed in the West Load Zone."
As previously reported, while FERC approval was previously granted to a settlement paving the way for Lubbock Power & Light's final integration into ERCOT, parties had to await the rehearing request window to close before finalizing schedules. The rehearing window passed without any requests for rehearing
As previously reported, an initial customer choice selection period will run from Jan. 5, 2023 to February 15, 2024. Any customers not choosing a REP in this shopping period will be assigned to one of the previously reported default REPs. Service under choice is to begin March 4 through April 2 on a customer's normal meter read (no "flash cut").
Choice still remains subject to final approval by the city council
LP&L has posted a list of REPs thus far approved to offer service in its territory on its website
