AltaGas Reports YoY Commercial Customer Growth For WGL Energy

In reporting earnings, AltaGas reported year-over-year increases in WGL Energy's commercial customer base
In the third quarter of 2023, AltaGas's U.S. retail gas sales volumes (WGL Energy Services) were 8,550 Mmcf, compared to 7,133 Mmcf in the same quarter of
2022. The increase was primarily due to an increase in commercial customers served by the business compared to the same
quarter of 2022.
AltaGas's U.S. retail electricity sales volumes (WGL Energy Services) were 4,134 GWh in the third quarter of 2023, compared to 3,670 GWh in
the same quarter of 2022. The increase was primarily due to an increase in commercial customers served by the business
compared to the same quarter of 2022.
In terms of the impact to overall AltaGas earnings, AltaGas reported modestly lower contribution from the WGL Retail Energy business for the quarter ending September 30, 2023.
During the third quarter of 2023, AltaGas reported higher power margins from
WGL's retail marketing business, but lower gas margins from WGL's retail marketing
business, both compared to the year-ago quarter
