PUC Seeks Budget Strawman To Potentially Rein In ERCOT Capacity RFP

During a meeting today, Texas PUC Commissioners directed that PUC Staff, in concert with ERCOT, develop a budget to guide consideration of ERCOT's winter capacity RFP

Multiple Commissioners expressed concern with the lack of any sort of budget or cost cap included in ERCOT's RFP
The PUC directed Staff to develop what Commissioner Will McAdams termed a "strawman" budget for the RFP
Commissioners Lori Cobos and Jimmy Glotfelty also voiced concerns with costs as well other aspects of the RFP
