Report: Residential Savings Under Electric Choice Exceeded $106 Million In Last 12 Months

The Connecticut Office of Consumer Counsel posted its monthly update of retail electric supplier pricing data (through August 2023)
In the month of August 2023, residential Eversource customers who chose suppliers saved
in aggregate $870,354 more than the Standard Offer for their electric generation, and
residential UI customers who chose suppliers saved in aggregate $529,109 more than the
Standard Offer.
In the month of August 2023, six out of ten residential supplier customers paid less than
the Standard Offer in Eversource territory, and six out of ten residential supplier
customers paid less than the Standard Offer in UI territory.
For the rolling year of September 2022 through August 2023, residential consumers who
chose a retail supplier saved, in aggregate, $106,214,145 more than the Standard Offer.
OCC said that, "Since January 2015, when OCC started tracking supplier data, customers with a supplier
have overpaid a total of $195,622,339 more than standard service"
