The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

The Texas PUC adopted without changes a non-unanimous stipulation that provides for Lubbock Power & Light to integrate the remaining portion of its load into the Electric Reliability Council Of Texas (ERCOT), a necessary step for the start of retail electric choice at LP&L this fall

Golden Spread Electric Cooperative Inc. did not oppose or wish to hold up Lubbock Power & Light's transition to ERCOT, but had raised concern with the allocation of a termination payment from LP&L to Southwestern Public Service Company across SPS's wholesale and retail production and transmission customers. The stipulation includes language concerning such allocation

Upon agreement of all parties, Golden Spread agreed to withdraw any opposition to PUC approval of the stipulation as filed, with other parties agreeing not to use PUC approval of such stipulation to foreclose Golden Spread's ability to litigate the allocation of the payment at FERC

With Golden Spread's opposition removed, the PUC approved the stipulation
