New ArcLight Retail Supplier Launches Service In Texas, Announces Expansion To Other States

OnPoint Energy, the new retail energy supplier formed by ArcLight Capital Partners has officially launched service in Texas, and has indicated that it will be expanding to several additional markets

OnPoint indicates that it will in the future offer electricity in states throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic including Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, and more.
With regards to its Texas offering, OnPoint is positioning itself as a, "straightforward Texas electricity company," with, "no games or gimmicks."
Among other things, OnPoint stresses its "easy-to-understand plans" and "transparency," further highlighting the following:
• "Guaranteed Rate Stability": "Our rates aren’t based on how much energy you use each month. Regardless of usage, your energy charge stays the same."
• "Dismantling The Myth Of 'Free'": Unlike other providers, we keep our plans simple. We don’t promise 'free' usage periods and charge you more during other periods.
• "Seamless Renewal Process": "If you forget to re-enroll, we’ll automatically sign you up for a great fixed-rate plan when your current plan expires."
In the Oncor service area, OnPoint currently lists one plan on its website, a 24-month fixed rate with an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh, of 11.2¢ per kWh, which reflects an Energy Charge of 7.3¢/kWh, "and TDU Delivery Charges, including Market Securitization (Debt) Financing charges."
A $99 early termination fee applies.
