The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed commercial PTC-Default rates with the Pennsylvania PUC for the three-month period starting March 1, 2023

The PTC-Default rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%.

Commercial Rates

At Met-Ed, the tariffed commercial PTC-Default rate will be $0.08679 per kWh effective March 1, a 31% decrease versus the current $0.12567 per kWh

At Penelec, the tariffed commercial PTC-Default rate will be $0.09161 per kWh effective March 1, a 14% decrease versus the current $0.10679 per kWh

At Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTC-Default rate will be $0.10818 per kWh effective March 1, a 10% decrease versus the current $0.12035 per kWh

At West Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTC-Default rate will be $0.07529 per kWh effective March 1, a 28% decrease versus the current $0.10504 per kWh

Revised Residential Rates

The FirstEnergy PA utilities also filed revised residential PTC-Default rates, corrected from an earlier filing, for the period beginning March 1, 2023, due to the use of an incorrect interest rate in the prior filing

The revised FirstEnergy PA residential PTC-Default rates, due to the utilities' correction, are below, in $ per kWh. They represent a de minimis change from the original filing, and are only marginally lower than the current PTCs.
