Prosumer-Focused Retail Supplier Receives Texas Retail Electric Provider Certificate
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The Public Utility Commission of Texas granted David Energy Supply (Texas) LLC an Option 1 Texas retail electric provider certificate
As previously reported, David Energy emphasizes a prosumer business model and has previously stated that, "We’re a new kind of retail electricity supplier -- vertically integrated and powered by technology. We bring electricity supply and demand response together to keep things simple and to save you money on your bill,"
In addition to fixed, index, and fixed energy/float capacity products, David Energy offers a "shared savings plan"

Under its Texas REP certificate, David Energy received the option of collecting deposits or advance payments from customers
David Energy also recently began offering online sign-up for a beta for residential service in New York (the site now indicates sign-ups are for a wait list, but the site had encouraged prospective customers to enroll by May 1 to start saving this summer). David Energy's forthcoming launch of a residential beta had been previously reported earlier this year. At such time, David Energy also indicated that it would also beta residential service in Texas
Of David Energy's New York beta, available in the ConEd territory, David Energy on its website states, "When was the last time ConEd paid you? Energy markets are changing but ConEd isn't - that's where we come in. David Energy pays you hundreds of dollars a year by occasionally reducing your usage while eliminating the need for dirty, expensive power from the grid."
In describing the residential beta, David Energy also says, "See and understand data across all your devices on our intuitive, user-friendly platform," and "Buy clean energy, understand your emissions, and clean up the grid by reducing usage when power is dirtiest."
Various customer devices which David Energy inquires about during the residential beta sign-up process include Electric Vehicle; Electric Solar; Smart Thermostat; Generator; Heat Pump; and Battery Storage
"Our powerful software platform intelligently manages your smart devices based on real-time changes in energy markets, with no extra work from you. We leverage APIs to connect to and optimize how your devices work together – so you can live smarter and cleaner, effortlessly," David Energy says of the residential beta
