Update: Retail Supplier Reports Ownership Change

Dominion Energy no longer retains an ownership interest in Dominion Energy Solutions, LLC (DES), DES confirmed in an April 29 filing

In reporting yesterday (story here) on a transfer of natural gas customers from DES to Interstate Gas Supply (IGS Energy) in Pennsylvania, EnergyChoiceMatters.com had noted that, as of the last public disclosure, Dominion Energy owned 15% of a retail energy joint venture (Wrangler) created with IGS Energy, with IGS owning 85% (and 85% of DES).

In an April 29 filing made after our story was published yesterday, DES further disclosed that, "On March 31, 2022, IGS acquired an additional 15% ownership interest in DES. As a result, Dominion Energy no longer retains an ownership interest in DES."

"DES and IGS will continue to be operated as independent and distinct legal entities," DES said

A customer letter concerning the above-discussed transfer of Pennsylvania customers from DES to IGS notes that, "Dominion Energy Solutions and the D logo design are registered trademarks of Dominion Energy, Inc. and are being used by IGS pursuant to a license agreement."

DES confirmed that it no longer serves natural gas customers in Ohio, having transferred its remaining commercial and industrial natural gas customer contracts to IGS. There was no change to the service provided to customers. This transfer followed a previously reported earlier transfer of Ohio mass market customers to IGS.
