Another Retail Supplier Drops Customers To Default Service

Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc. said in a filing that it was authorized by Energy Cooperative of Ohio ("Energy Co-op") to begin transferring Energy Co-op' customers to Columbia’s default sales service.

The Energy Co-op, which holds registration as a retail supplier, was served by Volunteer Energy Services, Inc. which as previously reported filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 25, 2022.

Columbia began incrementally transitioning customers on March 30, 2022, from Energy Co-op’s rates to Columbia’s default sales service rate. Columbia will complete the transition of Energy Co-op’s customers by the end of the April billing cycle.
