Energy consultant SilentSherpa is preparing to launch a new service, named kilowant, which will be an automated transaction application used for the procurement of energy supply

kilowant states on its website that, "kilowant.com is the first 'smart contract' or automated transaction application used for the procurement of energy supply. It is the fastest and most cost efficient means of purchasing energy supply as it removes 100% of the time and cost of the traditional brokerage process. Additionally, because it is a data driven application it is impartial to human-driven recommendations that are often economically unfavorable to the consumer [eg. locking into prices at the wrong time for the wrong duration]. kilowant.com is all about setting the standard for a faster, cheaper, and smarter method of purchasing your energy supply."

Further describing how the process works, kilowant's website states, "Upon creating an online account, users will upload an image or photo of their most recent utility bill or bills, select a calendar term or terms of energy supply [eg. January 2022 - December 2022], select a desired price or prices, and an optional expiration date of the order [collectively the "buy order"], and submit the request. kilowant.com then uses the account information from the bill(s) along with the corresponding buy order(s) to automatically shop your buy order(s) directly to qualified energy suppliers. As soon as one of the participating suppliers can fulfill your order the contract executes. Until such time as the buy order executes, the user is free to modify or cancel their buy order(s) without any cost."

kilowant's website states that there is no direct fee assessed to the user. All costs of participation are born by participating energy suppliers, the company's website states

kilowant states that it is planning on going live in select test markets in 2022. The company is currently providing an opportunity to be among the first 1,000 beta users, with the beta stated to go live in 77 days (from date of publication of this story)
