Shell Mass Market-Focused Subsidiary Seeks Retail Natural Gas Supplier License In New State

Inspire Energy Holdings, LLC, which ultimately is a unit of Shell, applied for a Pennsylvania natural gas supplier license to serve residential customers and small commercial customers (less than 6,000 Mcf annually) at PECO, Columbia Gas, Peoples Natural Gas Company, Peoples Gas Company, Philadelphia Gas Works, and UGI Utilities.
"Inspire plans to offer fixed price and flat monthly subscription retail natural gas plans, paired with carbon
offsets equivalent to its customers' natural gas usage, and will offer such plans to residential and small
commercial customers in Pennsylvania similar to the natural gas services Inspire offers to customers in
Ohio," the company said in its application
Inspire currently serves approximately 250,000 residential and small commercial customers in the retail
energy industry, the company said in its application
