Large Retail Supplier Seeking To Change Name To Via Renewables, Undergo Rebranding

Spark Energy, Inc. is putting a measure before its shareholders, as a vote, to amend the company's certificate of incorporation to change the name of the company to Via Renewables, Inc.

Spark's Board of Directors has declared this amendment to be advisable and recommended that this proposal be presented to the company’s shareholders for approval.

Proxy materials filed by Spark Energy stated, "The Board, management and employees of the Company desire to adopt a new corporate name as part of a rebranding initiative."

As previously reported, during a recent first quarter earnings call, Spark Energy CEO Keith Maxwell had said that the company would have several announcements in the coming months regarding its focus on ESG strategies, and transforming the company into new areas of supply and markets (see story here)
