The trustee for Brilliant Energy (Debtor) said in a May 14 court filing that the trustee is still attempting to sell the Debtor’s commercial contracts, and the trustee expects to succeed or fail in that effort by May 28, 2021.

As exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com on May 5, Evolve Retail Energy LLC d/b/a Octopus Energy US has entered into an agreement, which has been approved by the bankruptcy court, to acquire Brilliant Energy's residential customer book and related assets (see prior story for details on purchase price)

The trustee said that the sale of the Debtor’s residential contracts is expected to close with the residential contracts transferred and transitioned to the purchaser (Octopus) by May 28, 2021.
