Texas Retail Electric Provider Acquires Another Customer Book

Texas retail electric provider JP Energy Resources LLC recently acquired a book of customers from Iluminar Energy LLC

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, JP Energy Resources has also recently acquired books from MQE, LLC d/b/a My Quest Energy, GB Power, Volt Electricity Provider LP, and Energy Monger

Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas have filed a petition to revoke the retail electric provider (REP) certificate of Iluminar Energy LLC, as Staff alleged that, "On May 3,2021, ERCOT revoked all rights of Iluminar as a market participant and terminated its Standard Form Market Participant Agreement (SFA) as a result of Iluminars [sic] failures to provide required collateral and pay outstanding settlement invoices."

"Specifically, as of May 3, 2021, ERCOT asserted that Iluminar has failed to timely pay Settlement Invoices totaling $42,440,388.14," Staff alleged

"Commission Staff asserts that Iluminar has committed significant violations of Commission rules and is no longer able to meet its financial obligations to ERCOT. Accordingly, Staff petitions the Commission to (1) revoke Iluminar's REP certificate number 10179; (2) identify valid claims against the financial resources relied upon by Iluminar in obtaining its REP certificate; and (3) proceed against any financial resources that Iluminar relied on to obtain its REP certification, in accordance with 16 TAC § 25.107(f) and (i)(7)," Staff said in the revocation petition
