Start-up Rhythm Acquires Book Of Texas Retail Electric Customers

Start-up retail electric provider Rhythm has acquired a book of Texas electric customers from Entrust Energy and Power of Texas.
The book acquired by Rhythm consists of about 50,000 customers -- consisting of about 80% residential customers, and about 20% small to medium-sized commercial customers
The acquired book does not represent the entirety of Entrust Energy's Texas book. Specifically, Rhythm is not acquiring any small and mid-size commercial customers from Entrust who are on an indexed or wholesale pass-through product
Rhythm will honor all contract terms and rates for the acquired customers
As previously reported, Rhythm recently began offering service in Texas. The company's creation by several former retail energy market veterans had been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com last year
Rhythm is positioning itself as a REP that is, "out to make energy easier."
"We started Rhythm because consumers told us they were sick of the frivolous claims, tacked-on fees and price gouging at renewal time," P.J. Popovic, cofounder and CEO of Rhythm, said in a recent news release. "Unlike other electricity providers that have monopolized the Texas market for decades, Rhythm is easy to use and transparent, won't screw you over at renewal like big energy companies, and will put its customers first by rewarding their loyalty."
