Start-up True Commodities, LLC has applied for an Option 1 Texas retail electric provider certificate

True Commodities, LLC sought to use the trade names True Power and True Prepaid, and sought authority to have the option of collecting deposits or advance payments from customers.

Kelly Bordelon serves as CEO of True Commodities, LLC

Bordelon previously served as Director of Finance at Just Energy, and Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at Gexa. Bordelon also held senior pricing and forecasting/supply positions at such retail suppliers.

Bordelon said in a statement that, "As a long-time professional in retail energy, it’s an honor to be leading a group of highly skilled veterans in this industry. No Texas REP currently has an authorized name or trade name with the term "True" in it. An unrelated company, True Electric LLC, previously held REP certificate number 10145, but True Electric LLC relinquished its certificate in 2014.
