Start-up Texas Retail Electric Supplier Backed By Clean Energy Company Receives REP Certificate

The Public Utility Commission of Texas granted Declaration Energy LLC an Option 1 retail electric provider certificate

Texas Secretary of State records confirm that Modern Energy Group LLC is a "governing person" of Declaration Energy LLC (a Delaware LLC registered as a foreign LLC in Texas), along with Benjamin Abram, Mark Laabs, and Jeffrey C Hart.
As previously reported, Modern Energy describes itself as, "a holding company for outstanding clean energy businesses, driving various elements of the clean energy transition -- from energy efficiency and distributed generation to demand response."
As previously reported, Modern Energy recently announced a $100 million debt facility from EIG Global Energy Partners to fund the development of clean energy assets.
As exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Declaration Energy, in an amendment to its REP certificate application, listed James Steffes, with the title of "principal", as a contact for regulatory, complaint, and emergency matters, and as the company's authorized representative, and as the primary contact under "Principal Company Information".
