The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed commercial PTCDefault rates with the PUC for the three-month period starting March 1, 2020. West Penn Power has also filed a revision to its originally filed March 1 residential PTCDefault rate, with the new rate now reflecting a decrease versus the current rate
The PTCDefault rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%. The utilities have not yet posted new official PTCs; the tariff filings with the new rates have not yet been approved by the PUC as of publication time
At Met-Ed, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 6.352¢/kWh effective March 1, a 2% increase versus the current 6.200¢/kWh
At Penelec, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 6.257¢/kWh effective March 1, a 4% increase versus the current 5.998¢/kWh
At Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.608¢/kWh effective March 1, a 4% increase versus the current 7.325¢/kWh
At West Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 5.849¢/kWh effective March 1, a 2% increase versus the current 5.722¢/kWh
The new commercial PTCDefault rates are to be in effect for the period March 1, 2020 through May 31, 2020
West Penn Power has also filed a revision to its originally filed March 1 residential PTCDefault rate, with the new rate now reflecting a decrease versus the current rate
West Penn Power said that the change in the March 1 residential PTCDefault rate is being revised, "due to a change in Purchase Power [sic]."
At West Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will now be 5.637¢/kWh effective March 1, a 2% decrease versus the current rate of 5.760¢/kWh. Originally, West Penn Power had filed an earlier residential rate for March 1 of 6.059¢ (a 5% increase), this rate is no longer valid.
The residential PTCDefault rates for the other FirstEnergy Pennsylvania EDCs were previously posted and reported in our story here
