Update: Handful Of Customers Dropped To Default Service As PUC Cancels Retail Supplier's License

A handful of electricity customers were dropped to default service in Pennsylvania as a result of the Pennsylvania PUC order which provided for the cancellation of the electric generation supplier license of ResCom Energy LLC (ResCom) upon such transfers

EnergyChoiceMatters.com was first to report in December that the PUC ordered the electric distribution companies to transfer the customers of ResCom Energy LLC to default service or switch them to another supplier of the customer’s choice as soon as practical, after the PUC found that ResCom has not complied with certain security requirements for licensure as an electric generation supplier

The EDCs filed reports with the PUC confirming the transfer of customers. Specifically, PECO and Duquesne Light (the two service areas which had active ResCom customers) informed the PUC that they had completed the transfer of customers consistent with the PUC's order

A handful of customers were returned to default service as a result.

With the transfers complete, ResCom's retail electric supplier license was cancelled by the PUC

As more fully detailed in our prior story, the PUC noted in its December order that ResCom had previously been issued a tentative order from the PUC informing ResCom that the company had not filed proof of updated security with the Commission; that failure to file such proof would lead to license revocation; and that ResCom did not file any adverse comments or provide an approved financial security to the Commission in response to the tentative order
