Comcast Retail Energy Offers Launched in Fourth State; Texas Entry Still On Tap For December 2015
Energy Rewards, the Crius Energy brand offered via its marketing partnership with Comcast, recently entered California, its fourth state, and is on track for a Texas launch this December, executives said during an earnings call this morning
As has been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Energy Rewards also offers service in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Jersey, and with the forthcoming Texas entry, Energy Rewards will reach 53% of Comcast customers who are able to choose their energy supplier.
Crius remains on track to have access to all Comcast subscribers in deregulated energy markets by the end of 2016.
During the quarter ending September 30, 2015, Energy Rewards enrolled 4,000 Comcast subscribers, which, along with 1,200 enrolled Comcast subscribers from the quarter ending June 30, 2015, totals more than 5,000 subscribers added to the Crius portfolio through the Comcast partnership to date.
Crius aims to have enrolled 15,000 Comcast subscribers in Energy Rewards by year-end (on a gross basis).
In California, Energy Rewards is offering natural gas service at Pacific Gas & Electric, with a plan priced 5% below PG&E's rate, based on Crius' "utility price index", for a period of 12 months. The current Energy Rewards rate under this plan is 30.97¢/therm. There is no early termination fee
The Energy Rewards offer at PG&E includes a $20 Visa prepaid card, 3 free months of HBO, Showtime, or Cinemax, and free movie tickets from Fandango
