Reliant is offering customers in ERCOT a critical peak rebate option which can be added to existing retail rate plans.
Reliant's e-Sense Degrees of Difference Program, available to customers with provisioned advanced meters in all Texas service areas, will pay customers who use less electricity during requested hours than they did at the same time of day during the five previous weekdays.
The specific rate for the credit is 30¢ per reduced kWh, applicable in all service areas.
Customers are notified of critical peak events a day before the event.
All Reliant customers may participate in the Degrees of Difference rebate program, except those on the SmartStart pay-as-you-go plan.
Reliant is also offering customers a smart thermostat that allows air conditioner cycling under its Ideal Temp with EcoFactor plan. The EcoFactor smart thermostat, which requires a high-speed internet connection, both learns customers' behavior and preferences to automatically adjust thermostat temperatures to reduce run-time while maintaining comfort, and is also able to cycle air conditioning during high-demand events as called by Reliant. Customers can opt-out of any automatic adjustments and set the thermostat manually as well.
The Ideal Temp with EcoFactor plan can be added to any Reliant product except the Reliant SmartStart Plan, Reliant Learn & Conserve Plan, or the Reliant e-Sense Degrees of Difference program. Customers are charged a separate line-item for the Ideal Temp with EcoFactor plan. The charge may be as little as $9.95 per month, with the first three months free.
Reliant is also promoting its previously launched cash-back nights and weekends plans in conjunction with the two above plans.
