Residential Churn at PPL Continues; West Penn Power Residential Growth Slows

The weekly growth rate in residential migration at West Penn Power has fallen by half over the last month, according to the latest weekly migration statistics from the Pennsylvania PUC.

From September 11 to September 17, PPL saw a net loss of just over 1,000 migrated residential customers. Although a direct comparison to the week-ago migration delta is not available, due to a gap in reporting, the weekly loss of 1,000 migrated residential accounts is slightly slower than the average of the two-week loss of 2,600 migrated residential accounts from August 28 through September 10.
At West Penn Power, the residential migration growth from September 15 to September 21 was just over 2,000 accounts. Although a direct comparison to the week-ago migration delta is not available, due to a gap in reporting, the weekly gain of 2,000 migrated residential accounts is slower than the average of the two-week gain of 6,700 migrated residential accounts from September 1 to September 14.
Additionally, for the last week in August, the weekly residential migration growth at West Penn Power was 4,300, or more than double the current weekly growth. Weekly residential migration growth at West Penn Power had been 5,000-6,000 customers during much of late July and early August.
For the most recent week, PECO saw residential migration growth of 2,400 accounts, down slightly from growth of 2,900 accounts in the most recent week.
Penelec weekly residential migration growth was 2,700 accounts, on par with recent trends.
Duquesne Light weekly residential migration growth was 849 accounts, which is even with the week-ago growth.
