Reliant has begun offering online enrollments for residential electric service in the District of Columbia.
As first reported by Matters (7/1), Reliant, which has now officially dropped "Energy" from its brand, has offered residential electric service in D.C. since the late spring, but had not previously offered online enrollments. Service was previously only available by calling a Reliant representative.
Reliant is offering D.C. residential customers a 12-month fixed rate of 8.89 cents per kWh. An early cancellation fee of $150 applies.
Parent NRG last week officially dedicated its previously reported solar installation at FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins, which includes a branding component for Reliant (7/14).
Reliant intends to serve residential customers in all areas in which it is active for commercial service (see 8/23)
