The New Hampshire PSC approved new default service rates for both large and mass market default service customers at Unitil Energy Systems, Inc. for the period beginning November 1, 2011.
For small volume (Non-G1) customers, the new default service rate applies from November 1, 2011 through April 30, 2012, and resulted after Dominion Energy Marketing, Inc. was awarded a contract to supply 25% of Non-G1 requirements from November 1, 2011 through October 31, 2013.
Blending the new Dominion Energy Marketing contract with the existing default service portfolio results in a fixed default service charge for Non-G1 customers of 8.026 cents per kWh for the period November 2011 through April 2012.
This rate includes an energy charge of 7.802 cents, plus an RPS adder of 0.224 cents. The Non-G1 customer class includes residential and small commercial (G2) customers.
For large customers (G1), new default service rates are for the three-month period beginning November 1, 2011. DTE Energy Trading, Inc. was selected to serve 100% of G1 requirements during this three-month period.
Default service rates for G1 customers are as follows, in cents per kWh:
November 2011
Energy: 7.933
RPS: 0.312
Total Rate: 8.245
December 2011
Energy: 7.894
RPS: 0.312
Total Rate: 8.206
January 2012
Energy: 7.908
RPS: 0.350
Total Rate: 8.258
Additionally, the PUC approved new Renewable Service Option adders for Unitil as follows: 0.725 cents per kWh for the 25 percent option, 1.449 cents per kWh for the 50 percent option, and 2.898 cents per kWh for the 100 percent option.
