Hess Small Business Services Continues Upstate N.Y. Expansion

Hess Small Business Services said today that it is now offering electric and/or gas service to small businesses in upstate New York, including the areas surrounding Albany, Binghamton, Cortland, Elmira, Glens Falls, Ithaca, Jamestown, Kingston, Middletown, Newburgh, Plattsburgh, Poughkeepsie, Rochester, Saratoga Springs, and Troy.
These cities include the territories of Niagara Mohawk, NYSEG, Rochester Gas & Electric, Central Hudson Gas & Electric, and Orange & Rockland.
Based on entering multiple zip codes confirmed to be within the above IOU service areas for each of the listed cities, Hess Small Business Services' website does not yet appear to offer online enrollments for these new territories, except for O&R, where Hess has been offering small business service since late last year.
No rates were announced in a Hess news release, but Hess said that its small business offers include a fixed rate as well as a market rate plan that includes the option to convert to a fixed rate. At O&R, the fixed plans include terms of 12 and 24 months for electricity and gas service.
Hess had previously stated its intent to complete upstate New York expansion in 2011 (see 11/10).
