NUS Consulting Group Acquires Viking Energy Management
Energy management solutions provider NUS Consulting Group has acquired Viking Energy Management, L.L.C., which specializes in risk management and energy procurement. Terms were not disclosed. NUS said that the acquisition of Viking Energy Management will complement NUS Consulting Group's existing staff and services, and provide a strong and experienced energy trading and risk management team to broaden NUS' existing service offerings in this area. Bryant Lee, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Viking Energy Management, will serve as Manager of Energy Trading and Risk Management at NUS Consulting Group.
Eagle Energy Expands to Electric Sales at Duke Energy Ohio
Ohio-based Eagle Energy said that it has expanded its energy services at Duke Energy Ohio to include electric sales, presumably meaning load-serving supply as it is now authorized to transact in the Midwest ISO market, in addition to its previously offered broker and aggregation services. A representative from Eagle Energy could not be reached prior to press time
SR Bertron Unit 1 Won't See RMR Service, ERCOT Says
ERCOT has decided not to bring back NRG Energy SR Bertron Unit 1 as a Reliability Must Run (RMR) unit due to mechanical issues encountered while making SR Bertron Unit 1 ready for RMR Service. ERCOT reported in a market notice that it would take additional time and costs to get Unit 1 to full operational status. As such, NRG and ERCOT have mutually agreed to terminate the RMR Agreement for SR Bertron Unit 1. Pursuant to the RMR Agreement, NRG may recover Eligible Costs accrued prior to termination.
