U.S. Gas & Electric Serving Electric Customers in New Jersey
U.S. Gas & Electric informed Matters yesterday that it is currently offering electric service to customers in New Jersey at all four electric distribution companies. In describing U.S. Gas & Electric's current markets yesterday (8/25), Matters only made note of the supplier's gas offerings in New Jersey, as U.S. Gas & Electric's website does not list electricity as offered in New Jersey, nor is electricity offered through U.S. Gas & Electric's online enrollment process for New Jersey customers (which Matters checked to determine product availability).
PUCT Staff File Draft to Implement SB 943
PUCT Staff filed a draft proposal for publication to implement SB 943 which, as previously reported (5/31), amended the definition of "power generation company" to include electric energy storage equipment or facilities, and to allow the owner or operator of energy storage equipment or facilities to interconnect, obtain transmission service, and use the equipment or facilities to sell electricity or ancillary services at wholesale (39657).
Hearing in AEP Ohio SSO Case Continued to Permit Additional Talks
An Ohio hearing examiner granted an unopposed request to continue the hearing on AEP Ohio's electric security plan until August 31 to allow additional time for settlement discussion.
Exelon Completes Wolf Hollow Purchase
Exelon Corporation has completed its previously reported acquisition of the 720 MW, combined-cycle Wolf Hollow generating plant in ERCOT. The purchase price for Wolf Hollow is $305 million, as adjusted for working capital. Exelon Generation's Texas fleet now consists of 3,132 MW.
Mich. PSC Reconciles Detroit Edison PSCR
The Michigan PSC approved an order directing Detroit Edison to roll over into its 2010 Power Supply Cost Recovery reconciliation an over-recovery of $15,642,519, including interest (U-15677-R). Additionally, Detroit Edison shall refund to its current Power Supply Cost Recovery commercial and industrial customers a total amount of $125,505 on an equal, per customer basis. The refund reflects amounts over-collected when reconciling the 2005 power supply costs from these customers.
Pa. PUC Allows PPL to Delay Opt-Out Process for Customer Info Sharing
The Pennsylvania PUC granted an unopposed petition from PPL Electric Utilities to delay the date by which it must conduct its next periodic notice to customers of their ability to opt-out of the sharing of customer information with suppliers (otherwise required to be performed in September), due to the PUC's ongoing review on remand of customer information list issues, including what information customers may decline to share.
